In short: Fondwell: Private AI Friend does not collect, store, or transmit any
of your personal information or conversations. Everything you type and everything the AI says
back stays on your device, always. There is no account, no server, and no way for us to see
your data -- because we never receive it in the first place.
What this app is
Fondwell: Private AI Friend is a private, on-device AI companion. You can chat by text with a
personality you choose or design yourself. All AI processing happens locally on your phone --
your conversations are never sent anywhere, including to us.
Information we collect
We do not collect any personal information. Specifically:
No account or sign-up of any kind is required or offered.
Your conversations, chosen personality, and any custom personality details you create are
stored only in local storage on your own device, and are never transmitted to us or anyone
else.
We do not use analytics, tracking, or advertising software of any kind.
We do not use cookies or any similar tracking technology.
When this app uses the internet
Fondwell only ever connects to the internet for two narrow, non-personal purposes:
Downloading the AI model. The first time you use the app (and
occasionally afterward, if an updated model is published), it downloads an AI model file
from our hosting provider so it can run entirely offline afterward. This is a plain file
download -- no personal information is sent as part of it, and the file itself contains no
information about you.
Processing an optional purchase. If you choose to unlock the optional
Premium AI upgrade, that one-time purchase is handled entirely by the Google Play billing
system. We never see or receive your payment details -- Google processes the transaction and
only tells our app whether the purchase succeeded, so the correct feature can be unlocked on
your device.
Outside of those two moments, the app makes no network connections at all, and works fully
offline.
Data shared with third parties
We do not share any data with third parties, because we do not collect any data to share.
Google Play's billing system independently processes purchases under its own privacy policy,
which governs that transaction; we do not receive your payment information from it.
Children's privacy
Fondwell: Private AI Friend is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect
information from anyone, including children -- because we do not collect information from any
user at all.
Your data, your device
Because everything is stored locally, you are always in full control. Uninstalling Fondwell
removes all locally stored data, including your conversation history and any custom
personalities you created. There is nothing stored on any server to delete, because nothing
was ever sent to one.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes -- for example, if a future version of Fondwell adds a new
feature that touches the internet differently -- this page will be updated, and the "Last
updated" date above will reflect that.
